Thank you to everyone who joined in with our challenge of New Beginnings. There were so many lovely designs. I can't believe that we are almost at the end of January already. The weather's been pretty horrid, lots of wind, rain and fog but thankfully nothing like the heavy snow we had last year ... so far!!!

We have some sad news this week. The lovely and talented Neus has stepped down from the Design Team due to family commitments ie, two toddlers who take up every minute of the day. Best wishes Neus and look forward to catching up with you in blogland.

Hi everyone! This is definitely going to be a long post so you'd better make a cuppa and pull up a chair. First of all thanks to all who joined in with our previous challenge of Lots of Sparkle. There were many, many fabulous designs which left the DT drooling.

Allison of Alli D Cards

I have been making cards for about 2and half years and started out of desperation really. Having had a reallyfruitless shopping trip looking for a card out of the ordinary for my Mum’sBirthday, I picked up a card making magazine and decided to give it a go. Neverbeing one to shirk a challenge the first card I made was a Victorian style fan,which Mum loved. Sadly it was one of the few cards I ever got to make for heras she passed away suddenly the following month. Making cards got me throughwhat was a difficult few months and before I really knew where I was I made allthe family Birthday and Christmas cards for that year. I haven't bought a cardsince.

I have a very stressful job and workshifts so I find making cards helps me ‘wind down’ which is why I will often befound crafting in the early hours of the morning. I started working towards acertificate in paper crafting in June and it was through this I was introducedto the world of blogging and the blog challenges, as I can submit some of thecards I make for the challenges as assessment pieces for the course.

My preferred style is definitelydistressed vintage looks and I love using the Tim Holtz distress inks and wouldbe completely lost without them and my sizzix bigshot, as I really love usingdie cuts and embossing in my designs too. I am currently very much into theSteampunk design style and like the eclectic items that can be put together tomake an effective design.

That’s me in a nutshell the onlyother thing to say is that I have a very understanding husband, who isextremely supportive. I love theCreative Stitch and Craft Fair that is held at Aintree race course every year –well I only live 10 minutes walk from Aintree so I walk up and when I have hadenough, ring hubby to come and get me in the car – well you couldn’t expect meto walk home with all my purchases and I don’t drive- see what I mean aboutlong suffering!

I'm a Mum to two grown up children and a Nana to one Grandsonwho keeps me on my toes. I got into papercrafting after his birth as I startingscrapbooking. I started making cards a couple of years ago so I consider myselfa newbie to papercrafting. I enjoy dabbling with new techniques and love lotsof different styles. Many years ago Ihad my own needlecraft shop so crafting has always been part of my life as wellas my children's. I'm a managernow at Thorntons so I'm surrounded by chocolate during the day and craft atnight, a perfect combination of indulgence.

I live in asmall village in Lancashire on the edge of the Pennines with my husband Alan. We have two sons, one daughter and six granddaughters. I used to work as a PA in a sweetfactory. Now retired I enjoy time with the family and my various hobbieswhich include reading and tracing my family tree as well as crafting. I have done knitting, crocheting andembroidery since I was young and started card making about 6 years ago.

My name is Wendy, better knownin blogland as Purple Crazy (yes my favourite colour is Purple). I livewith my lovely husband George and our cat, Sweep, who thinks she is incharge. My three children have all flown the nest many years ago now andbetween them have had my six grandchildren.

I’ve crafted at all sorts ofthings since I was a young child, now that’s an awful lot of years!! Istarted off being taught to knit and dressmake by my mother and have tried manythings since then, currently I’m into paper crafting, beading, kumihimo andcross stitch. I also love to read thrillers & crime type stories and watchTV programmes such as NCIS, CSI and Natural World Documentaries.

Thankfullycrafting and reading has kept me sane since an accident injuring my spine andconfining me to a wheelchair several years ago, so what I am able do each daytends to revolve around how good or bad my pain and health is.

We are looking forward to working with all the new designers and I'm sure you'll be bowled over by their talent.

Hello challengers! What a busy couple of weeks I've had! There seems to be so many things going on. I was in Glasgow on 28th & 29th with my friend. On 28th we went to the SECC to the Crafts for Christmas & Hobbycraft fair. It was busy, busy, busy. On 29th we hit the shops and I'm pleased to report that my Christmas shopping is well and truly finished. Just all the wrapping up to do now - a job I detest!!! My Christmas cards are coming an pretty well so all in all I feel my halo shining! I hope you are all getting organised too. Here's a little bit of info about me:

I live in a small, beautiful place called Osen, on the south east countryside in Norway. I've been making cards for about 5 years now, but my card crafting really hit the roof when I started blogging 3 years ago!

I love creating with beautiful stamps, ink, papers, flowers, pearls, ribbons and other craft stuff. My favourite technic at the moment, is colouring images with Prismacolors. I find inspiration everywhere and anywhere; in blogland, in magazines, in colours, in commercials...you name it!

I very much enjoy teaching craft classes - it gives me so much joy to see others create. I love spending time together with my crafting friends, and I'm spending as much time together with them, as my ordinary life allowes me to :)

My name is Wendy but I use Chilli Pip as a crafting name because of my love for chillies and have a chilli logo on the back of all my cards. I recently moved to the small village of Sedgefield in South Africa and fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves. My new craft room is slowly taking shape thanks to hubby Dave's DIY skills and I am sure I will spend many happy hours crafting. I started making cards a couple of years ago and shortly after discovered a challenge blog and another and another and I was hooked.

I am amazed and inspired by the beautiful cards and new techniques and often very envious of all the tools of the trade which are available to the overseas gals and those living in the big towns.

I love challenges and am always drawn to those where you can feel warmth and friendliness among its DT members which how I found OLLCB .

My name is Lisbeth and I turn 50 this month. I live in the south of Norway. I am married and have a daughter. I also have a lovely little grandson who is 3 years old this summer. I've been stamping and making cards for almost 4 years now. I started with scrapbooking but now I just make cards. I'm very fond of sweet images, layers of beautiful papers, tings you can never to get too much of. I love to look around on other blogs, there are so many great cardmakers out there, and this gives me a lot of ideas for my cards. I am so looking forward to being part of this challenge blog, and happy to be creating with such wonderful talented ladies.

I began cardmaking in sping 2008 when a friend suggested I started selling cross stitch cards that I used to make for close friends and family for special occasions. I knew I couldn't make them fast enough to sell so I started buying embellishments and sticking them to card blanks! Since then I have developed my skills more than I ever imagined and now I'm willing to try any technique going, make shaped or funky folded cards, or just try something different! I sell my cards on a local market and still occasionally make a cross stitch card!

We have a wonderful new Guest Designer for July and August, welcome Paul. I'm sure you'll love his designs as much as we do and it's great to have some creations from a male perspective. Here's a little bit about Paul.

My name is Paul and I live in the wild west countryside of Wales. Got into card making when I was teaching. I was always on the lookout for new ideas for using in the classroom for Easter, Christmas, Mothers' Day etc. I then started getting more and more into it. I like playing with folds and creating 3D items. Being a male crafter, I have a bold, simple style (I like the measuring and straight lines / angles aspect) and rarely go for flowery, lacy cards and projects. I like digital crafting as I feel I can do things the way I want them, as and when I want them - resizing, layering, printing off as much as I need.

We run a bi-weekly challenge and you will be expected to take part in each one along with some commenting.

The DT term will run from 1 July till 31 December 2011

I just can't believe how quickly the year is marching on and we're into May, which means we have a new Guest Designer and for May / June we are delighted to have Anne (Stargroves) with us.

I’m Anne Ray and I've been papercrafting for about 3 years. I am originally a quilter and my papercrafting began when I went into the wrong hall at the NEC craft show, lol, and got me hooked in moments. I live in Lambourn, horse racing country, with my husband and 2 teenage sons, horses, a terrier and a retired greyhound. Stamping is my first love and I have a growing collection of Copics. Sometimes I feel I’m going back to my childhood with all this colouring in of images but it’s too much fun to stop! When I’m not making cards I like to read, sew, bake, ride and go racing.

Some sad news now I'm afraid. This is the last week that our wonderful guest designer Kym is with us. A very big thank you from all of us at OLL and we hope to see Kym joining in with our challenges again.

Sammi has decided to step down from the design team. Sammi has been given the chance to be a sponsorship coordinator on another team and, understandably, can't do everything. We are very sad to lose such a talented member of our team but wish Sammi well in her new venture. Time doesn't stand still and that is how, thoughout our lives, we grow. Good luck Sammi and hope to see you popping in from time to time.
