CHALLEGE 22 ~ PAPER PATCHWORK

Thank you to everyone who joined in with last weeks sketch
Now to this weeks challenge, I came across a card in an old magazine this morning and thought the patchwork looked so pretty, I thought I would have a go. I also found a punch that I had not used for ages. I have lots of punches that I never seem to use anymore, such a waste as some of them make lovely embellishments

I'm sure you all have lots of little pieces of paper laying around, you know the bits you cant bring yourself to throw away

The squares are 4.4cm square and I did 3 rows of 3

After sticking them to a square card I used a green Sakura pen to make faux stitching

The little flower in the middle is my smallest flower punch, punched out twice and attached with a brad

I enjoyed making this card so much I decided to have another go

This time I did 4 rows of 3 using the same size squares and then used my biggest floral punch adding buttons for the centre this time

And this Beautiful card was sent in by Daisychain, I think the stitching and the choice of papers are just fabulous, thank you so much for joining us again this week

If you feel like having a go don’t forget to leave us a message in the comments box so we can come and see all your creations

CHALLENGE 21 ~ LORETTA'S SKETCH

Thank you all again for the fabulous entries last week

This week we have a wonderful sketch designed by Loretta who has an amazing gallery over on the Docraft site: http://www.docrafts.co.uk/community/profile/profile.aspx?buddy=48354

A little bit about Loretta

A housewife, mother and now a grandma to little Joshua who was born in January 2008.
Have been crafting since I was a little girls, learning to knit at the age of 7 and embroidery at the age of 8.
Think I made my first 'thank you' cards when I was about 7 when I made my 1st Holy Communion and have
done so ever since passing on this to my children when they were young. I love cardmaking and have
learned techniques and styles over the years often getting inspiration from the gallery and craft magz and
programmes.
My favourite technique is stamping and watercolouring and I love all forms of papercrafting. Am fairly
new to scrapbooking and I really must find time to do more wedding pages for my daughter who got married
2 years ago and now little Joshua has come along I will need to do some pages for him too.

To get you started

CHALLENG 19# SHABBY CHIC

Thank you to everyone who joined in last weeks challenge I loved seeing each and everyone of them, we had a brilliant week

Now to this weeks challenge and maybe you are saying ...... Whats Shabby Chic
Shabby Chic refers to a type of design that looks a bit old and worn, the style is imitated by rubbing or sanding away , some times fabric is stained with tea to give it a look of old fabric the same can be done with paper and card.
The essence of Shabby Chic is usually vintage or antique looking

I decided to try something different this week and found these 2 projects in one of my French craft mags, I hope you like them

I distressed the green card with brown and gold ink pads, the 2 photgraphs are very old photo's of my grandfather and great grandfather and the baby is my grandmother

If you would like to join in please add a comment to this thread and a link to your work so we can all come and take a look
